The fireman came over to us and stated that our building was unstable and we could not go in, but they would try to see if anything of salvageable.
I looked the fireman in the eye and stated, “In the first bedroom on the left is a flag in a case with items around it. If it’s still there, that’s all we want.” My husband looked at me and said, “Mmm, you didn’t ask for my wallet or your purse?” I looked at him and just smiled and said sorry.
Through the smoke and water, the fireman came over to me and in his hands was the flag in its case. He looked at me and said, “Ma’am the fire burned up and all around the wooden case, but didn’t touch anything on or in it.”
I gave him a kiss and a hug, saying, “Thank you, sir!”Posted on: July 28, 2017, by : tandersondell
